Integral Yoga End-Of-Life Project

Confronting one’s mortality can be an overwhelming prospect. However, with a strong spiritual foundation, one can prepare for the end of life by living well, in the present moment. This recently launched project offers some resources for approaching the end of life in a yogic way, with information and resources organized into six tracks: spiritual; physical release; practical planning; community service; memorials and interment; and legacy giving. From the Integral Yoga End-Of-Life Project website:

“For over half a century, Integral Yoga has taught us how to live an easeful, peaceful, and useful life. Now, as we age, the time has come for Integral Yoga to lead the way in guiding people to prepare for the end of life so we may more peacefully leave our legacies behind us. The curriculum for this initiative has the potential to be as significant to Yoga Teacher Training as has been to the development of Yoga Therapy. The programming for it is developed by senior Integral Yoga students and ministers worldwide.”

** COVID-19 UPDATE: IYI Closed Until Further Notice **

To all current and prospective students: in accordance with the guidelines set by the government of Quebec, the Integral Yoga Institute of Montreal is CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE due to the current concerns around COVID-19, as a necessary measure to keep staff and students safe.

We appreciate your continued support, and encourage everyone to follow government recommendations regarding the issue. We must work together as a community and society to ensure our collective well-being, and aim to rise above fear by continuing to practice kindness and compassion to each other and ourselves during this challenging time.

We look forward to the day when we can have classes again, but in the meantime, we urge everyone to do their best to continuing practicing yoga and meditation — at home!

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION & SUPPORT GROUP FOR RECOVERY & RELAPSE PREVENTION

Meditation can help support the addiction recovery process by giving us tools to retrain the mind, develop emotional stability, reduce anxiety and stress. Our self-awareness is deepened through the practice of meditation, allowing us to gain deeper insight into the root causes of our habitual tendencies, which can help reduce cravings and prevent relapses.

This one-hour meditation & support group session combines brief instruction in various simple, mindfulness meditation techniques, readings, and a “sharing circle” / support group component to encourage participants’ journey toward long-term recovery. All are welcome, no previous meditation experience necessary.

TIME / HORAIRE: 15 – 16h
DATES: Sundays, September 16 – October 28 (6 sessions, no class October 7; taught in English)
