A weekend adventure in practice and study with Kathleen Knipp.

The study of a text is also the study of ourselves. The Pratyabhijñahrdayam will be used a springboard for introducing and discussing the non-dual philosophy of Self-recognition in Kashmir Shaivism. No experience with text study is necessary, simply an interest in understanding Consciousness in its play as ourselves.

Friday, Nov 1   7-9pm
Saturday, Nov 2   9-12 and 2-5
Sunday, Nov 3   9-12 and 2-4:30

5425 Park Ave, Montreal

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION & SUPPORT GROUP FOR RECOVERY & RELAPSE PREVENTION

Meditation can help support the addiction recovery process by giving us tools to retrain the mind, develop emotional stability, reduce anxiety and stress. Our self-awareness is deepened through the practice of meditation, allowing us to gain deeper insight into the root causes of our habitual tendencies, which can help reduce cravings and prevent relapses.

This one-hour meditation & support group session combines brief instruction in various simple, mindfulness meditation techniques, readings, and a “sharing circle” / support group component to encourage participants’ journey toward long-term recovery. All are welcome, no previous meditation experience necessary.

TIME / HORAIRE: 15 – 16h
DATES: Sundays, September 16 – October 28 (6 sessions, no class October 7; taught in English)
WHERE / LIEU: Institut de Yoga Intégral de Montréal, 5425 Avenue Du Parc

“This is a 7-hour long, interactive workshop designed to inform and educate participants on the foundation of yoga alignment. Many students struggle to understand basic anatomical alignment as regular classes often deny the time to teach these imperative skills.  Through my yoga principles workshop I aim to help students improve their personal practice by teaching them the benefit of a strong, supported and well-aligned body.”

Yoga for Recovery & Relapse Prevention (New 6-week class)

(Français ci-dessous)

Recovery can be a long process, whether it’s from a dependence on substances, or compulsive behaviours (gambling, gaming, overeating or even shopping). Yoga can help support the recovery process by providing holistic tools to help prevent relapse, maintain sobriety and promote overall physical, mental and emotional balance to aid in coping with daily stresses.

Participants in this one-hour long class will benefit from the practice of physical postures, plus a short guided deep relaxation designed to revitalize all the body’s systems, all done in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

This donation-based series of 6 classes is appropriate for those who are in early or long-term recovery, regardless of age, ability, or size, and is intended to complement — not replace — a recovery program such as S.M.A.R.T. or The 12 Steps. Participants are encouraged to take part in all 6 classes to help build the foundation for a personal home yoga practice. This series of classes is based on the S.O.A.R. (Success Over Addiction and Relapse) Yoga program.

24 hour period of abstinence required prior to class.

(Success Over Addiction Relapse) Yoga Program.

Nous demandons une période d’abstinence de 24 heures avant les cours.

TIME / HORAIRE : Thursdays @ 6 PM / Tous les jeudis, à 18 heures.
DATES: From/Du 22 June/juin to/au 27 July/juillet 2017 (6 weeks/semaines)
WHERE / LIEU: Institut de Yoga Intégral de Montréal, 5425 Avenue Du Parc
DONATION / DONS: $5.00 (suggested per class / par cours — pay-what-you-can, no one turned away / personne ne sera refusé à la porte)

Loosely based on our Integral Flow / vinyasa style classes, the pace of the class will be adjusted to the overall skill level of the class. Beginners and regular members welcome. More information in Classes and Schedule.

Integral Yoga Celebrates 50 Years

Integral-yoga-50th-anniversary-logo

The spiritual philosophy of Yoga is thousands of years old. Founded in 1966 by Sri Swami Satchidananda, Integral Yoga was one of the first organizations to bring the ancient teachings of yoga to the West. This year, the school of Integral Yoga is turning 50 years old. “Over the past half century, the lives of countless spiritual seekers have been transformed through the comprehensive and in-depth approach of Integral Yoga that integrates all aspects of our lives and maintains our natural condition of an easeful body, peaceful mind and useful life.”

For more information and to see a schedule of events celebrating Integral Yoga’s 50th anniversary, visit Yogaville or visit Yogaville Livestream to see live recordings of this year’s special events being streamed (starting July 15, 2016) or archived online.
